How can detect a cd drive?
i have connevted my Cd drive to my computer wid Mother board but the system don't detect it . plz tell how can i solve my problem. my system configaration is --2.66 D,945 GNT intel mother board,512 DDR2ram, 160 GB hard Disk,

make sure the data cable is on right on the cd rom and to the motherboard and the jump pin at the back of the cd rom is on master , then restart the pc enter the bios & set the cd rom to auto detect to set the cd -rom on auto detect in the bios menu hit the page down key and hit esc key and f10 key to save settings

to solve u r problem
1. open the cd drive from cabinet
2. check for jumper setting (if u r hdd is p.m then change it to s.m)
3. install it. if it not detect chande u r datacable
4. this time it must detect....
