Use the Mattes Half Pad with your existing pad, as you would a gel pad (only the Half Pad is much better: it holds your pad in place, and it is breathable!)

They are usually fuzzy pads that aren't as big as a regular pad that go on top of the regular pad to provide extra protection and comfort to a horse's back. They are commanly used on high withered horses to even out pressure and weight distribution for the horse.

The Wither Relief Half Pad optimizes close contact between horse and rider. Opening at withers relieves saddle pressure and improve saddle fit.
