A vampire question...............?I want to write a book, but vampires, witches, and wearwolves are so over used. Any ideas for mythical creatures i can use? the weirder the better. please and thank you :]

Centaur, satyr or faun, merfolk (there are just not enough non-childish books about merfolk), phoenix, basilisk, hippogryffe or hippocampus? how about gandeleens? part goat and part chameleon. i'm a hge fan of the equilax a horse with the head of a bunny. it's cute and has a giant horse.....well you get it.
