they never have aligned by any reasonable definition (say, within 1 degree, which is twice the width of the full moon), and they never will.

Because each planet is on a different orbital plane, they are never perfectly lined up. If you mean all on one vertical plane, that happens every hundred years or so.

well because they are on different orbits, they never actually align

people think its gonna happen in 2012 which thats false because jupier and saturn are moving away from eachother and they wont be near untill a few thousand years
