Why do recruitment agencies never reply to your messages

Why do recruitment agencies never reply to your messages?

I am a Graphic Designer and have had work through these agencies in the past but they never get back to me or reply to my voicemails/emails when Im asking about more work. Are they to busy?

Yea they basically have so many people ringing them that unless they have work for you that same day or you are currently working for them and the issue to discuss directly affects their interests, then they wont get back to you. It isn't very polite but it's some sort of unspoken convention with agencies that it's acceptable to treat people this way. If you complain to them they will just brush you off and pretend they are doing nothing wrong.

It is still a good idea to call them though because you could just call at the right moment when you catch them on the phone and they have a job specifically for you, which may well have gone to someone else on the list, had you not called.

I hate agencies.

They are too busy for you! Can't you take a hint?
