Is it possible to sue when you are cheated out of hours you've worked?

This isn't affecting me, but a friend. They take hours from everyone. I told them to maybe call fieger law or something since I believe they say "we don't get paid unless you do".

I'm thinking they could group sue the owner and/or the corporation, they'll have witnesses, cameras, it's likely possible to find out all changes ever made in their system (likely FBI would need to do this), etc.

What things could they sue under?

They likely cannot afford a $700+ lawyer.
