Foreign Income Exclusion?I have been working in Iraq since 26JUL09, I take vaca's in the U.S. and sometimes in Germany, the IRS is claiming Germany counts against my 330 day rule and I have to be in Iraq for 330 days!!!???, but I thought as long as I am out of the United States I can claim the FIE. So, just for example if I took 30 days in the states and 10 in Germany, according to the IRS I exceeded my 330 days in a foreign country. I read Pub.54 but that is not what I am getting out of it. Can somebody pls give me some advice? Quick Answers it seems you are a pro in this matter......I hope to hear from ya :)
One more thing since I am posting....again I have been here since 26JUL09, if I decide to use my 12 consecutive month such as 26JUL09-26JUL10, and then for 2010 can I use 1MAY2010-31APR2011? cause those would be the best 12 consecutive month. Pls HELP!!!
