Deleting Files Permanently From Hard Drive

Deleting Files Permanently From Hard Drive? Deleting Files Permanently From Hard Drive?

So, I used Pandora Recovery to find the files, recovered them to a folder on my desktop, then used Sure Delete and File Shredder, ran Pandora again, and low and behold, there they were again. What gives? I thought these programs were suppose to "Permanently Delete Files"? It's personal financial info that I don't want on a certain computer. I've gotten burned before, and I don't want it to happen again. So, what can I do to insure that these files get permanently deleted and some cracker jack program like Pandora find them and let someone access them? Thanks.

Other Answers:

Other than physically destroying your hard drive, the files cannot be permanently removed. Trust me, people like the FBI will always be able to wipe it and recover the files. Don't even bother.

If you've downloaded illegal content and feel that you may be caught and prosecuted, I would recommend destroying the hard drive altogether.

Good luck!

From what I heard, you cannot permanently delete your files. Even those little programs. Only thing I can think of is the startup disk that will erase everything and bring it back to the beginning. But maybe next time don't do something you aren't supposed to on a computer.

Stick a strong magnet around it. Problem solved.

Very simple process.
Choose file to delete permanently from your Hard Drive.
Press Shift and Delete
Then file will delete permanently.
