Superman is out in space to stop an asteroid. The asteroid has a mass of 500,000 kg and Superman has a mass of 100kg. He pushes the asteroid and it travels away at 100m/s.
What I calculated...
Total mass = 500,100 kg
Momentum of asteroid = 50,000,000 kg x m/s
velocity of asteroid = 100m/s
If momentum is conserved, what must Superman's speed be after he pushes the asteroid away?
