I think you need to refine your question. Do you mean to refer to strictly classical music, i.e. that written (roughly) between 1750 and 1820ish. And the influence of that period on 'concert' (for want of a better expression) music being written today? Or do you mean 'classical music' in its whole gamut from Alfonso the Wise to Bernard Zimmermann on the popular music of today?

Namely in structure. The laws of tonal harmony are the building blocks on which most all popular music today is built. I don;t even know where to begin...
