Are Portuguese people considered Hispanic? Are Portuguese people considered Hispanic?

Since Hispania includes Spain and Portugal, does that mean Portuguese people are Hispanic?

Other Answers:

If you have a dictionary you can see:
hispanic - someone who speaks spanish as native tongue. It could not be more plain and simple.

So, spaniards are the only ones belonging to the hispanic race in europe, and dont come with "considered" white, keep it factual.

In america, spaniards and portuguese are considered non whites.

Portugal & Spain are DIFFERENT countries & speak DIFFERENT languages.Spaniards are Hispanic and the Portuguese are Lusiphone.

No. Portuguese are White European Latin.

I considered them European

but I think on the census they are Hispanic white
