Why do countries have wavy/uneven borders?For example, on one side of Iraq the borders are somewhat straight, and the other side there wavy and uneven. How do they figure where the borders go?

Many times it's because the borders are formed by rivers, mountains or other natural barriers. The world is more interesting this way.
