Cookies that can use cookie cutters?I got this really cute unicorn cookie cutter and I want to use it. I want to make peanut butter, snickerdoodle, and m&m cookies. Can I use the cookie cutter on these cookies or do only certain types of cookies work with cookie cutters?

Usually the rule of thumb: is the cookies you have mentioned are a 'soft batter' and dropped by spoon fulls- the snickerdoodle is formed into a ball and is a 'firm batter' cookie. The snickerdoodle is usually crisp on the edges and soft in the inside. You need a batter that is rolled; gingerbread, sugar cookie recipe. It is more of a 'forgiving' batter as you roll it out and manhandle it. Normally they also have less of a leavening agent than some of the others. Having said that ...you could make your brownies, bar cookies, rice krispie treats and use the cutter AFTER the oven but be mindful of the texture of the product and if it will cut away clean, not to mention the waste. Any roll out cookie will work; drop cookies won't. You need to find recipes for rolled cookies for each of the kinds you want to make.
