Changing the subject? Changing the subject?

What are the rules for changing the subject in maths?

Other Answers:

you have to do the same thing to both sides of the equation
e.g. y=mx+c make x the subject of the formula
take c from both sides
y-c=mx
divide by x
(y-c)/m=x
it's only tricky when you have to make something the subject when it is the denumerator of a fraction
e.g. y/m +c = x make m the suject of the formula
y+ mc = mx
y=mx-mc
y=m(x-c)
y/(x-c)=m
or the numerator
e.g. y/m +c = x make y the suject of the formula
y/m=x-c
y=(x-c)/m

transpotion is wat i think its called and the rule i know is do to the other side as u did to the other like
say
5n/h=4x+3q and u wanna make 4 the subject
its
5n/h-3q=4x+3q-3q subtract 3q from (both sides)
5n/h-3q=4x then divide (both sides) by x
5n/h-3q/x=4 then 4 is now ur subject
rule is in brackets

Its Easy really, as long as you know that its it anything squared or cubed! you must take the root at the end

No rules - just go to a different teacher. Then you can do Science, French, ...
