Did you tell your supervisor at the time that by doing the work 'you were forced to' you would fail to return some mags on time? If so then make sure you tell the disciplinary committee that. If not then you should have.

You need to check the terms and conditions of your employment and see what counts as misconduct, gross misconduct etc, to give yourself an idea of what you might expect after the disciplinary. Although there are some things which would be general on this across all employment there will also most likely be some things which are specific to your employer.

Once the disciplinary hearing has taken place then the person/people holding it should take time to consider the next course of action before informing you what it is (i.e. verbal warning, written warning, etc).

I don't think that the first part of your post about changing departments has any relevance at all to the disciplinary or the situation - as long as you are still carrying out the same role, the company will have every right to move you between departments as and when the business needs require, unless your contract specifically states 'home and leisure assistant', in which case your employer has varied the terms of the contract without your agreement. However, they probably have a clause to cover this within the terms and conditions of employment - something like, the employee may be required to work in an alternative department as the needs of the business require.

contact your union rep straight away.
