Brown discharge or light period?! PLEASE HELP?

okay, im irregular. ive had my period for about 2 and 1/2 years. yeah, ive had a few normal months but im not very consistent at all. well, last week, i noticed a had brown spots in my underwear and i was like "damn... that time of month." so i put in a tampon and went on about my day. well when i took out that tampon i had barely anything on it and i was like ok? well thats really painful to take out a tampon with nothing on it so im just not gonna wear one.

well for a week ive been doing this same thing.. brown shi.t. i have just been thinking that since im so weird about periods i was having a REALLY light one.. but then i though that the amount of brown sh.it is about the same amount of discharge i usually have.. and its been happening for a week, whereas my periods last like 3,4 or 5 days. so, is it brown discharge do you think? its not chunky in my underwear but it sorta is on the tampon..

and if it is brown discharge, should i be worried?? please help

im a virgin.. NOT PREGNANT

& i dont drink water.. so pretty much all i drink is cranberry juice so its not a UTI, i dont think

Well "brown discharge" that you are describing is just old blood. You are probably shedding the lining of your uterus (like what happens on a regular period) which is why it may be gooey. Don't be alarmed.

You are pretty much just starting out with your period so it will take a while to get regular. The best way to become regular and having regular "looking" periods is to be on birth control...the pill. I'm not sure how you would go about talking about it with your parents but that is one way.
Just keep panty liners in your underpants. And keep tampons in your purse just in case.
