Other Answers:

1 search fonts delete most of the strange ones
2 get rid of the crap from your c: drive dir to free up space
3 burn my pictures to a cd then delete them(usually takes up the most space)
provide more info on the size of your c drive and any partitions/extra drives?

sounds like a straightforward problem. You need more memory.

A document does not contain the acutal fonts used to create it. Instead it tells your computer to go into its archives, find the same fonts, and load them into its memory so that the document can display properly.

The computer does this by storing them in either intermal memory or in a cache or on your hard disk. This takes space which the program is telling you that you are short of.

Options:

1) Buy more memory and install it.
2) Check to see what other programs are running that may be hogging the available memory. You may have picked up a virus that is also causing the memory to be in use even tho it says it is free. Run a virus check.. (you do have Virus software don't you!!!! - hint hint hint)
3) See if your setup will let you load the document with default fonts. It will look funny but will read.
4) See if your hard disk is getting full. 'Getting full' starts at about 70% of the space is used. Defrag your machine and then check its size.

Getting the office disk won't solve a thing..

Option 1 is not a bad option Most computers and their programs can benifit by more memory. Especially internet surfing.

good luck...

it is also possible that the fonts are corrupted, does this happen when you open an exsisting document or only when you create a new document?

if it happens with an exsisting document can you try loading up the document on a different computer?

There is one possibility the others have not suggested. It appears the document you are trying to load was written with a font not normally used by your computer. If you can contact the originator of the documents, have them "save" the document using a True Font --- such as Verdana. That way your computer will not try to load a large batch of fonts.
