What does render mean

What does render mean?

I see it used a lot in video games, for one example, Minecraft, where you can change the render distance short or tiny which makes your vision shorter or longer. Also some people say stuff like chunks don't render fast. I'm guessing it basically means loading? But if that's the case then why not just say loading then? The part that really confuses me is when people use the term render in videos. Some people say they need to save the video, then render it, then upload it into Youtube. I also see it used in a bunch of other editing type of things, and this term confuses me so much, what does render mean???
