Picture Slideshow Screensaver stops working

Picture Slideshow Screensaver stops working?

Whenever my picture slideshow screensaver plays for more than a few minutes, I get a message that says "Screen saver has stopped working" and the option to either close the program or search the internet for a solution. When I tried searching, I was redirected to an obscure codec site that doesn't work.

There is also a dropdown menu for "more information. I clicked the "more information" option and got this mess:
