Can anyone in Sydney, Australia recommend a decent hotel for a week?

Two people need a twin bedded room for a week commencing 26th November, somewhere convenient for transport and sights etc. Each hotel I have looked at seems very expensive and does not even include breakfast. Any ideas out there please? Last time I was in Australia was 1949!!!!
