Can you help me understand The General Strike of 1926?

Hey, basically I just need a little help.

I'm reading up about the General strike for my History, however I don't understand the Sankey Commission and the Samuel Commission. I briefly understand that the Sankey commission gave the miners a temporary wage boost and decreased working hours. But, I don't know much more :/

I can't seem to a good article explaining these things.
